Choices For Living
Well
Daily we strive to gain the kind of life and possessions we
desire. There is an urge written
deep within us, in our very genes and spirit, to grow and change to
become the best we can.
Our challenge is to keep learning and exploring new experiences.
Researchers have proved
that being active in mind and body is the best preventive medicine at
any age, but especially
as the years add up.
Too often we seem to be totally oblivious to the idea that we are
responsible for what happens
in our life. Whatever the future appears to hold for us, we need
to remember that we have the
power to change.
Changing the way we look at things and, more importantly, changing the
way we feel about
change, gives us the life we desire. We create our own reality.
We don't get to choose how we are going to die, or when. We can
only decide how we are
going to live now!
Yesterday is a canceled check, tomorrow is a promissory note, today is
the only cash you
have -- spend it wisely. Keep learning and exploring new
experiences.
Plain and simple: it feels really, really good to create, change and
evolve into being someone
special to family and friends. However, go to the mirror and look
at yourself. The verdict that counts most in your life is from
the one looking back from the glass.
Remember the last time you watched a baby learning to walk? The
baby intends to give up
crawling for a faster way of moving because there are so many things to
see and do in the
world around him..
The child has the determination and confidence to keep trying --
especially with mom or dad
on the sidelines giving encouragement. No matter how many falls,
just get up and try again!
Soon walking becomes an automatic habit that requires no conscious
thought.
Why, as adults, do we forget the joy and thrill of achievement that we
had as babies? We end
up focusing on the no-nos, the reasons why it won't work, how others
will judge us or the fear
that we might fail. Instead, concentrate on the goal and enjoy
the journey reaching for
success.
